In September 2012, through a conference prior to the Tokyo Game Show, Sony announced the launch of a new PlayStation 3 model, even thinner and thinner than the previous two models was released in late 2012 and is available with a hard drive 250 or 500 GB, in addition to another model with 12 GB of flash memory.
In PAL regions, the 250 GB model is not available, instead a model with 12 GB of flash memory (CECH-4000A) was put up for sale. In the United Kingdom, the 500 GB model was put on sale on September 28, 2012, while the 12 GB model was released on October 12, 2012.
The new model weighs approximately 2.1 kg with hard disk, while the 12 GB model weighs approximately 2.0 kg. Both are 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the Slim model. The biggest noteworthy news is that this version has a sliding cover instead of the slot for loading discs.
A vertical stand (CECH-ZST1J) is also available for these models and launched on the same day as the consoles of their respective regions.
There are packs with the FIFA 13 or Uncharted 3 games: Drake’s betrayal in its GOTY version. It is available at a price between 200 and 300 euros, depending on the model.
